How It Works: Red Light Therapy

Simple light. Big impact.

Red Light Therapy is one of those treatments that feels almost too gentle to be powerful—until you realise what’s happening beneath the surface.

At Cryobright, we use Red Light Therapy to help your body do what it’s naturally built to do: heal, repair, and restore itself. Whether you're recovering from training, dealing with joint pain, struggling with sleep, or wanting to improve your skin, red light can support you—calmly and effectively.

It’s non-invasive, deeply restorative, and backed by a growing body of research. In fact, there’s now strong scientific evidence showing how red and near-infrared light can improve cellular energy, reduce inflammation, ease pain, support skin healing, and even improve sleep quality.

Let’s walk you through how it works—and why we love it.

The Basics: What’s actually happening?

Our red light panels use specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light:
630nm + 660nm to target the skin
830nm + 850nm to reach deeper into muscles, joints, and nerves

When you stand in front of the light, your cells absorb these wavelengths. That light helps your mitochondria (your cells’ energy producers) make more ATP—aka cellular energy. More energy = better repair, faster recovery, and stronger function across your body.

You're not forcing your body to change—you're giving it a natural boost so it can do its job better.

How we use it at Cryobright

To support recovery and energy

Whether you’ve smashed a workout, pushed through a busy week, or just feel flat, red light helps your body bounce back. We use it to:

  • Speed up muscle repair

  • Ease post-exercise soreness

  • Re-energise the body and mind without stimulants

Many clients leave feeling lighter and more switched on.

To calm inflammation and ease pain

Got stiff joints, flare-ups, or old injuries that still niggle? Near-infrared light can help:

  • Reduce swelling and inflammation

  • Ease joint discomfort

  • Support healing in tendons and soft tissues

It’s a quiet but powerful way to help your body settle and repair.

To improve skin and support scar healing

Red light has a long history in skin repair. We use it for:

  • Boosting collagen and skin tone

  • Calming breakouts, redness, and irritation

  • Supporting scar healing and post-treatment recovery

It’s great on its own or combined with our facials for extra glow.

To support sleep and nervous system reset

Red light can help bring your body back into balance—especially after stress or disrupted sleep. We often recommend it to:

  • Wind down in the evenings

  • Regulate melatonin and your body clock

  • Calm the nervous system and support deeper rest

It’s a go-to for many clients managing stress, burnout, or anxiety.

What does a session feel like?

Peaceful. Still. Restorative.

You’ll stand or sit in front of the light for 10 minutes. There’s no discomfort, no heat—just a gentle warmth and a quiet moment to yourself while the light does its work. It’s one of the easiest therapies to fit into your day, and one that often leaves you feeling clearer, calmer, and recharged. Our light booth has 8 panels covering front and back (so no need to turn).

How often should you use it?

That depends on your goal, but here’s a general guide:

  • For recovery and general wellness – 2 to 3 times a week

  • For pain, injury, or inflammation – Regular use over 4–6 weeks

  • For skin support – Once or twice weekly, or alongside facials

  • For long-term balance – As part of your weekly rhythm

We’ll help you build a plan that makes sense for you—and adjust as your needs shift.

Why we believe in it

Red Light Therapy doesn’t overwhelm the body—it works with it. It supports healing without strain, and it gives you noticeable benefits without side effects or downtime. At Cryobright, we’ve seen how consistent use helps our clients recover faster, sleep better, and feel more like themselves again.

It’s subtle, but powerful. And for many people, it’s the shift that makes the difference.
